                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Cecil Stubbs has been constructing custom Log and Timber Framed Homes for over twelve years, and understands that these homes are not constructed for people who just decide on a whim that they want one.  People who have these homes built have been wanting this type of home for years.  "Ninety percent of the folks we build for have been dreaming of living in a log or timber home since the first time they stepped foot in one.  This is what I love so much about my job, helping to make their dreams a reality.  I love to walk away from a job well done and have the customer appreciate all of the hard work and artistry involved in our job.  I've always believed that the quality of a project will speak for itself, and while that is a very important part of what we do, there is a lot more to it.  Throughout each of our projects we are educating the homeowners, explaining in detail what needs to be done and how.  All components/amenities in a log home must compensate for settlement. I go into detail explaining to the owner or contractor how to do this".  Southern Log Crafters is a small construction company, less than twenty employees.  This way I can be on the site of every job to insure that the quality is worth having my name on it.  You just don't get that type of service with larger companies.  You can't pick up the phone and expect to talk to the owner of a large company about your project the same day.  We stay on every project until the contract is complete, being a smaller company gives us that ability.

We are experienced in constructing everything from the "kit" to the "true handcrafted, in the field", and all homes in between.  "There is very little that I haven't seen in log and timber construction, but I'm always looking, and always wanting to learn new techniques.  No two homes are the same. We experiment with new materials and ideas in this industry every day.  That's why every home is CUSTOM."
