Last year, I hired a contractor to remodel my kitchen.  After great expense and more than two agonizing months, my kitchen was beautiful but several weeks later, my tile floors were cracking and my countertop was sagging.  At that time, my sister-in-law recommended Cecil Stubbs for remodeling and other construction work.

Cecil inspected my kitchen and recommended several relatively inexpensive measures.  Within two weeks, he made my kitchen floors and countertops as beautiful and structurally sound as they should have been with the previous contractor.

My home is 32 years old and, of course, needs maintenance and repair.  I was so pleased with my kitchen that I hired Cecil and his crew to replace my leaking roof.  he went with me to the supply house and helped me to select the perfect shingles to match my vinyl siding.  He was on site every day to supervise and take part in the roofing job, so the entire project went along much more quickly and less expensively than expected.

After the roofing job was complete and pronounced absolutely beautiful by all my relatives and neighbors, I hired Cecil to remodel my basement so that I can evict my teenage son and all of his junk from the upper level.

My, late husband was a contractor, so I am familiar with building projects.  I knew from the begining that Cecil was not taking advantage of my absence, buying materials that were too expensive or inappropriate, or rushing through the project.  I appreciated that Cecil continually checked his crew's work to be sure everything was proceeding as required, correcting any errors in previous construction, and completed every phase within or below my budget and well within the promised timelines.

So many people need an honest, trustworthy contractor to complete their projects on time and at a reasonable expense.  As far as I am concerned, Cecil and his company meet that requirement.

In January, 2005, I hired Southern Log Crafters to remodel my home.  My home was only two years old, but still in it's original "white wall" design.  I wanted something different, but, like most homeowners, I wasn't sure what I wanted to achieve.

Cecil worked with me to draw diagrams for my remodeling so that his crew could perform as quickly and precisely as possible.  He quicly determined the correct materials and amounts needed for each portion of the project.

He recognized my unfamiliarity with a building project and helped me achieve the best results at the lowest cost.  Several times, I chose materials or paint colors that were inapproperiate for the task at hand and, each time, Cecil tactfully guided me back to the most reasonable approach.  He never took advantage of my ignorance by allowing me to buy a product that was too expensive or unsuitable.

Cecil often worked on the project himself to be sure that to be sure everything was exactly as promised.  What I had estimated as being a six month project turned into a eight week project that left me with a lovely home.  I had budgeted for a much larger expense, but only spent one third of my funds.  Living in the home during the project was not as awful as I had previously anticipated either, the cleanliness of the crew and the scheduling of a "room by room" makeover from Cecil, made my living there fairly easy.

I was so pleased with the performance that I have recommended Cecil and his company to both family members and neighbors.  As far as I am concerned, they will be the only call for all of my construction and remodeling needs in the future.

I've known Cecil Stubbs for approximately 5 years and I have been involved directly and indirectly with him and his company in the Log Home Industry.  These projects included new home construction and also a restoration project.  During this time I have found Cecil to display good business practices and has been reliable and honest in our dealings.  He has also purchased building supplies from my company and has always paid for them in a timely manner.
